How to Manually Add Contacts to a LinkedIn Campaign Using Sales Navigator Lead Lists

Overview

This SOP outlines the process for manually adding specific individuals to a LinkedIn campaign by using Sales Navigator Lead Lists instead of relying solely on broad lead search filters.

This method is ideal when you want to selectively target individuals by name or handpick prospects from a search rather than bulk-enrolling based on predefined criteria.


🛠️ Tools / Resources Needed

  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator – for creating and managing lead lists

  • OttoMatey Platform – for creating campaigns and syncing lead lists

  • LinkedIn Account – for manually saving leads to Sales Navigator


STEP 1: Create a Sales Navigator Lead List

Goal: Build a custom list of prospects you want to target manually.

  1. Navigate to Sales Navigator and click on Lead Lists in the sidebar.

  2. Open an existing Lead Search to view prospects.

  3. From the list of prospects, handpick individuals by selecting only those you want to include.

    • Example: Select Kurt and Larry, but exclude Ryhan and Olivia.

  4. Choose Save to List:

    • Save to an existing lead list, or

    • Create a new lead list by naming it appropriately.

  5. Click Create & Save.

STEP 2: Add Individuals Manually by Name

Goal: Add a single person to a lead list if you know their name.

  1. From the Sales Navigator home screen, search for the specific individual by name.

  2. Click the three-dot menu next to their profile.

  3. Select Save to List, then choose the appropriate lead list.

  4. If they’re already saved, you can move or add them to a different list through the same menu.

Note:
Adding directly from regular LinkedIn requires switching to the Sales Navigator view to access the green Save to Sales Navigator button.

STEP 3: Use Lead List URL in OttoMatey Campaign

Goal: Connect your Sales Navigator list to OttoMatey for campaign automation.

  1. Once your lead list is ready, open the list in Sales Navigator.

  2. Copy the URL of the lead list.

  3. In OttoMatey, create a new campaign:

    • Choose either a Simple or Smart Campaign type.

  4. When prompted to Add Search, paste the lead list URL instead of a regular search URL.

  5. Set up your campaign steps (messages, timing, etc.) as normal.

  6. Name your campaign and save it.

STEP 4: Continuously Add New People to the Campaign

Goal: Keep your campaign up-to-date with new prospects without starting over.

  1. At any time, return to your Sales Navigator lead list.

  2. Add new prospects by saving them to the same list.

  3. Go back to OttoMatey and refresh the campaign search.

  4. Rerun the campaign — the new individuals will automatically be included.

This allows for ongoing, manual additions without needing to recreate or restart the campaign.

  • No, you must first add them to a Sales Navigator lead list, then connect that list to OttoMatey.

Do I need to recreate the campaign each time I add someone new?

  • No, simply refresh the search in OttoMatey after adding new leads to the list.

Where do I find the option to save a person from LinkedIn to Sales Navigator?

  • You must be viewing their profile in Sales Navigator to see the Save to List button.
