Why is my account still sending messages after it’s been disconnected?

Updated over 2 months ago

If you've disconnected your account but noticed messages seemingly being sent from one of your campaigns, don’t worry—it’s not a new action. Here's what's happening:

No New Messages Are Being Sent

Once you disconnect your LinkedIn Account from OttoMatey, no new actions will be performed on its behalf. This means the system will stop sending connection requests, messages, or executing any other campaign steps.

Why Are You Seeing Messages in Your Inbox?

The messages you're seeing are notifications for previously sent connection requests that have just been accepted. Even after disconnecting, connection requests can still be accepted by the recipients at any time. So, while you’re no longer actively engaging with prospects, their responses to your past requests may appear in your Inbox.

Example Scenario

Let's say you had a LinkedIn Account connected to OttoMatey and ran a Send Connection Requests campaign from January 2024 to November 2024.

In December 2024, you disconnected the account, but in January 2025, you noticed new messages in your Inbox that you didn’t send.

This is exactly what we described earlier—these messages are simply responses to connection requests you sent before disconnecting, and now they’re appearing in your Inbox as those requests get accepted.

Key Takeaway

Once your account is disconnected, OttoMatey will stop sending new messages. Any new activity you see is just the result of previous activities or previously sent connection requests being accepted after your account was disconnected.
